Google’s View About Reciprocal URL Link Building
Google supports reciprocal URL link building. However Google does not support this method in case the links are built in non-relevant sites. Few SEO consultants exchange links mutually for the purpose of increasing the back-links count without considering the quality of the websites. Google stands against reciprocal link building in non relevant sites.
Google search results are majorly based on content and back-links. Once the keyword or key phrase is entered in search box, the crawler look for them in the web content. When two or more websites contain the phrase, the spider gives priority to the websites who have higher number of quality back-links. But unfortunately, some webmasters consider only the quantity and not the quality of inbound links. This happens often in link exchange schemes. Google strongly warns this method.
When you submit your reciprocal URL to your partner, you have to keep in your mind two important things. First look whether your partner is giving relevant services and next analyze whether your partner is worthy enough to exchange links mutually. Though Google does not recommend this technique where people ask “you connect me, I connect to you”, reciprocal URL still works fine when the back-links are built cautiously.
In today’s world, website owners easily interact with their partners. They exchange their links mutually to ensure good page rank and visibility. This is natural and can’t be stopped. Further Google finds it difficult to guess whether the links are built artificially or naturally. However Google penalizes websites who have a large number of links built on non-relevant sites considering them as spam. Therefore be careful while building links. When somebody ask for your reciprocal URL, make sure whether your partner is relevant and qualified to exchange links and never look the page rank alone.
